Variety are reporting that Netflix has acquired worldwide distribution rights for “Extinction” from Universal, the film was originally slated to release in January but was pulled from the Universal schedule late last year. Netflix has now announced that film will hit their streaming service later this year.
Extinction stars Lizzy Caplan (Masters Of Sex, Now You See Me 2) and Michael Pena (Ant-Man, End Of Watch) as co-leads who play a husband and wife. Pena’s character is in constant fear of losing his family, and those fears become reality when one day his home planet is invaded by a force that sets out to destroy it. Fighting to keep his family alive he realises an unknown strength he has hidden inside of him.
