Or “You can’t just snap your fingers and make everything right.”
Everything in the MCU was building to this point…now here stand at the end of Phase 3. Were you elated or disappointed at how it turned out? For me, I was so into this one I didn’t even take a potty break during this 3 hour marathon. I was so jazzed about this, that I might have given it a perfect 10. So now that the honeymoon phase is over, let’s assemble and get the Lowedown on this movie.
Sub-Genre: Comic Book
Length: 3hrs 1min
Let’s take a look at the movie scores:
Plot: With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe.
The cast has to get an 11…they brought everyone from every MCU movie for this…except maybe Edward Norton (sorry original Bruce Banner). The acting wasn’t great, but everyone played their character correctly. As for the plot…c’mon! It is the culmination of everything that happened in the last 12 years. The ending was great…not what I expected; which made it even better. I loved how the story played out…it was perfect to give closure to the MCU fanatic.
Favorite Quote: “Tony, trying to get you to stop has been one of the few failures of my entire life. “
Let’s have a look at the genre scores…
Full marks on the Imagination and CGI…was the whole thing done on green screen? There might have been CGI issues, but it wasn’t as plain as the lip on my face. I had some issues with the pace…it was solid, but the movie didn’t have to be 3 hours long. Shave 15-20 minutes and it would have been perfect.
“That is America’s Ass.”
Genre Score: 9.0
Of course they could follow the comic book exactly…or Silver Surfer would be in it (spoiler alert…no surfer). As usual, the comedy is on point with the characters and the MCU.
Total Score: 9.4
Twenty-two movies had to happen to lead to this…it’s been a great ride! I know it was 3 hours long, but I guess it needed to be to get the kind of closure fans wanted. It’s an emotional roller coaster all the way through…not as a group, but on a personal level as well. I could say this is a must see…but you probably have already been to the theater. If you haven’t…assemble your fellow MCU fans and go see it.
