Or: “He really has trouble retiring.”

John Wick is back…again. To kill a bunch of people…again. Yes it’s the same story moving forward, but I don’t care. John Wick has been the best ‘one man army’ franchise I have seen in a long time, so I couldn’t wait to go see this on the big screen. I’m locked and loaded…ready to break it down and give you fellow space travelers…The Lowedown on the third installment
Unless you are Amish or just woke up from a 7 year coma, You have at least heard of this franchise…if not own the first 2 films on Blu-Ray like I do. As an action movie fan, this is definitely one of my favorite films of the year.
Let’s take a look at the movie scores:
Aside from those that died, the original cast returns for the trilogy…adding in Mark Dacascos, Anjelica Huston, and Halle Berry to really raise the bar. I found some of the acting a little flat…but hey, it’s an action flick.
Plot: Super-assassin John Wick is on the run after killing a member of the international assassin’s guild, and with a $14 million price tag on his head.
There were some holes in the story that bugged me a bit, but the ending presented a change I didn’t expect.
Let’s take a look at the genre scores:
The violence is amazing…including one of the best knife fights I have ever seen. I loved the pace of the film…very little lag. Then I have to give full marks for F/X, Gunplay, and Intensity. This is some of the best work I have seen in the franchise.
Favorite Quote: “Under the circumstances…your privileges are reinstated immediately, what do you need?”
Total Score: 9.3
We all know what John needs…what I needed was a great third film and I got it! The cast just gets better and the fight scenes are on point. Halle Berry did well (love the dogs) and there is one of the best knife fights I have ever seen! When the credits rolled, I made two conclusions: 1. There will be a 4th movie 2. It was worth seeing on the big screen.
